Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 13 — Kīcaka’s Proposition and Draupadī’s Dharmic Refusal
Even great heroes uphold dharma through restraint and disciplined conduct: they accept humble roles, perform rightful duties, and protect a solemn vow (secrecy during incognito exile) rather than seeking immediate assertion of power.
During the incognito year, the Pāṇḍavas remain hidden in King Virāṭa’s domain, each undertaking assigned responsibilities and serving the king while maintaining their disguises.
