शीततोयो बहुजल: पुण्यस्तात शिव: शुभ: | हृद: परमदुष्प्रापो मानुषैरकृतात्मभि:,तात! गोकर्णतीर्थमें शीतल जल भरा रहता है। उसकी जलराशि अनन्त है। वह पवित्र, कल्याणमय और शुभ है। जिनका अन्त:करण शुद्ध नहीं है, ऐसे मनुष्योंके लिये गोकर्णतीर्थ अत्यन्त दुर्लभ है
śītatoyo bahujalaḥ puṇyas tāta śivaḥ śubhaḥ | hṛdaḥ paramaduṣprāpo mānuṣair akṛtātmabhiḥ, tāta!
Dhaumya disse: “Meu filho, este lago sagrado tem água fresca e reservas abundantes. É puro, auspicioso e benfazejo. Contudo, para aqueles cujo íntimo é indisciplinado e impuro, este tīrtha de Gokarṇa é dificílimo de alcançar.”
