वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse primarily signals closure and emphasizes the dharmic value of tīrthayātrā (pilgrimage) as a recognized path of merit, framed through authoritative sages (Pulastya and Nārada) within the epic’s tradition of ethical instruction.
Vaiśampāyana marks the completion of the eighty-fifth chapter of the Tīrthayātrā Parva within the Vana Parva, indicating that the portion dealing with Nārada’s words connected to Pulastya’s pilgrimage account has concluded.
