युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

तत्र विष्णु: प्रसादार्थ रुद्रमाराधयत्‌ पुरा । वरांश्व सुबहूँल्‍लेभे दैवतेषु सुदुर्लभान्‌,तदनन्तर त्रिभुवनविख्यात सुवर्णतीर्थकी यात्रा करे। वहाँ पूर्वकालमें भगवान्‌ विष्णुने रुद्रदेवकी प्रसन्नताके लिये उनकी आराधना की और उनसे अनेक देवदुर्लभ उत्तम वर प्राप्त किये

tatra viṣṇuḥ prasādārthaṁ rudram ārādhayat purā | varāṁś ca subahūn lebhe daivateṣu sudurlabhān | tad-anantaraṁ tribhuvana-vikhyāta-suvarṇa-tīrthakī yātrā kare |

Ali, em tempos antigos, Viṣṇu venerou Rudra para alcançar sua graça. Dele obteve muitos dons excelentes—dons extremamente difíceis de conseguir até mesmo entre os deuses. Em seguida, a narrativa volta-se para a peregrinação ao célebre Suvarṇa-tīrtha, afamado nos três mundos, mostrando que até os mais elevados buscam o favor divino por meio de devoção reverente.
