Pulastya’s Instruction
ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र ब्रह्मण: स्थानमुत्तमम् । ब्रह्मोदुम्बरमित्येव प्रकाशं भुवि भारत,भरतवंशी राजेन्द्र! तदनन्तर ब्रह्माजीके उत्तम स्थानमें जाय, जो इस पृथ्वीपर ब्रह्मोदुम्बरतीर्थके नामसे प्रसिद्ध है
tato gacchet rājendra brahmaṇaḥ sthānam uttamam | brahmodumbaram ity eva prakāśaṃ bhuvi bhārata ||
Então, ó melhor dos reis, deve-se seguir para a morada suprema de Brahmā. Ó Bhārata, ela é conhecida na terra pelo nome de ‘Brahmodumbara’—um lugar sagrado cuja própria fama conduz o viajante justo, passo a passo, pelo caminho da peregrinação e da conduta disciplinada.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse frames pilgrimage as a dharmic discipline: one is enjoined to proceed to a revered sacred site associated with Brahmā, emphasizing reverence for holy places and the ethical ideal of purposeful, guided movement toward what is ‘uttama’ (highest).
The speaker gives directions within a sequence of tīrthas, instructing the king to go next to Brahmā’s supreme abode, a place on earth famous as Brahmodumbara.
