पृथिव्यां यानि तीर्थानि अन्तरिक्षचराणि च । नद्यो हृदास्तडागाश्ष्‌ सर्वप्र्नवणानि च,पृथ्वीपर और आकाशमें जितने तीर्थ, नदी, हृद, तड़ाग, सम्पूर्ण झरने, उदपान, बावली, तीर्थ और मन्दिर हैं, वे प्रत्येक मासकी अमावस्याको संनिहतीमें अवश्य पधारेंगे। तीर्थोका संघात या समूह होनेके कारण ही वह संनिहती नामसे विख्यात है

Transliteration

ghulastya uvāca | pṛthivyāṁ yāni tīrthāni antarīkṣa-carāṇi ca | nadyo hradās taḍāgāś ca sarva-prasravaṇāni ca |

Translation

Ghūlastya disse: «Todos os tīrthas que existem na terra, e também os que se movem pela região intermediária (o céu); os rios, lagos, lagoas e toda espécie de nascentes—todos eles certamente se reúnem em Saṁnihitī a cada dia de lua nova de cada mês. Por ser uma confluência e um lugar de reunião dos tīrthas, é célebre pelo nome Saṁnihitī».
