The verse elevates three ethical foundations—humility (praśraya), self-restraint (dama), and truthfulness (satya)—as qualities that make a seeker worthy of instruction and spiritual benefit.
Pulastya, pleased with the questioner’s disciplined and respectful conduct, signals approval and readiness to teach—setting the stage for instruction on the greatness of pilgrimage to sacred places (tīrthas).
