जनि>यै कथयामास सैरन्ध्री रोदितीति च । ब्राह्मणेन सहागम्य तां वेद यदि मन्यसे,उसने अपनी मातासे जाकर कहा--'माँ! सैरन्ध्री एक ब्राह्मणसे मिलकर बहुत रो रही है। यदि तुम ठीक समझो तो इसका कारण जाननेकी चेष्टा करो”
jñātvā kathayāmāsa sairandhrī roditīti ca | brāhmaṇena sahāgamya tāṃ veda yadi manyase ||
Tendo sabido disso, foi relatar: “Mãe, a criada Sairandhrī chora copiosamente após ter encontrado um brâmane. Se te parecer apropriado, procura descobrir a razão.” A fala reflete uma postura cuidadosa, conforme o dharma: antes de agir, deve-se indagar a aflição alheia com discrição e compaixão.
बृहृदश्च उवाच
The verse highlights considerate conduct: when someone is in visible distress, one should not jump to conclusions but respectfully seek the cause, guided by compassion and propriety (dharma).
A report is made to a mother that Sairandhrī has met a brāhmaṇa and is crying intensely; the speaker suggests that, if deemed appropriate, the mother should investigate the reason for her sorrow.
