दमयन्ती तु रूपेण तेजसा यशसा श्रिया । सौभाग्येन च लोकेषु यश: प्राप सुमध्यमा,सुन्दर कटिप्रदेशवाली दमयन्ती रूप, तेज, यश, श्री और सौभाग्यके द्वारा तीनों लोकोंमें विख्यात यशस्विनी हुई
damayantī tu rūpeṇa tejasā yaśasā śriyā | saubhāgyena ca lokeṣu yaśaḥ prāpa sumadhyamā ||
Damayantī, de cintura esbelta, tornou-se célebre nos três mundos por sua beleza, seu brilho, sua boa fama, sua prosperidade e sua ventura auspiciosa.
बृहृदश्चव उवाच
The verse highlights the classical ideal that true renown arises from a convergence of auspicious qualities—beauty, radiance, prosperity, and good repute—suggesting that excellence (inner and outer) naturally becomes socially recognized.
Bṛhadaśva is describing Damayantī’s exceptional qualities and how they made her widely celebrated across the worlds, setting the stage for her prominence in the Nala–Damayantī narrative.
