ततो जलधरश्यामो वरुणो यादसां पति: । पश्चिमां दिशमास्थाय गिरमुच्चारयन्‌ प्रभु:,इसके बाद जल-जन्तुओंके स्वामी मेघके समान श्यामकान्तिवाले प्रभावशाली वरुण पश्चिम दिशामें खड़े हो इस प्रकार बोले--

Transliteration

tato jaladharaśyāmo varuṇo yādasāṃ patiḥ | paścimāṃ diśam āsthāya giram uccārayan prabhuḥ ||

Translation

Então Varuṇa — de tez escura como nuvem de chuva, o poderoso senhor dos seres aquáticos — tomou posição voltado para o ocidente e, com autoridade, começou a falar.
