ज्येष्ठापचायी ज्येष्ठस्य भ्रातुर्वचनकारक: । प्रपद्ये5हं वसून् रुद्रानादित्यान्ू समरुद्गणान्,दिव्येभ्यश्वैव भूतेभ्यो ये चान्ये परिपन्थिन: । आप बड़े भाईका आदर करनेवाले हैं, उनकी आज्ञाके पालक हैं। भरतश्रेष्ठ! मैं आपकी शान्तिके लिये वसु, रुद्र, आदित्य, मरुदगण, विश्वेदेव तथा साध्य देवताओंकी शरण लेती हूँ। भारत! भौम, आन्तरिक्ष तथा दिव्य भूतोंसे और दूसरे भी जो मार्गमें विघध्न डालनेवाले प्राणी हैं, उन सबसे आपका कल्याण हो
jyeṣṭhāpacāyī jyeṣṭhasya bhrātur vacanakārakaḥ | prapadye'haṃ vasūn rudrān ādityān marudgaṇān viśvedevān tathā sādhyān | bhūmeḥ antarīkṣād divyebhyaś ca bhūtebhyo ye cānye paripanthinaḥ | tebhyaḥ sarvebhyaḥ śāntiṃ te svasti ca bhavatu ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Tu és alguém que honra o mais velho — obediente ao teu irmão primogênito e cumpridor de sua palavra. Ó melhor dos Bharatas, para a tua paz e bem-estar eu me refugio nos Vasus, nos Rudras, nos Ādityas, nas hostes dos Maruts, nos Viśvedevas e nos Sādhyas. Que haja auspício para ti — protegido de todos os seres que obstruem, sejam terrestres, atmosféricos ou divinos, e de quaisquer outros que queiram impedir o caminho.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse praises dharmic conduct expressed as reverence toward elders and faithful obedience to rightful authority, and it frames protection and well-being as supported by aligning oneself with cosmic order—invoking Vedic deities to remove obstacles and secure peace.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a blessing/protective invocation is spoken for a Bharata hero who is characterized as respectful to his elder brother and compliant with his commands; the speaker seeks safeguarding from all obstructive beings across earth, atmosphere, and heaven by taking refuge in major groups of Vedic gods.
