वारितस्त्वब्रवीत् पार्थो दृश्यमानो निवारय । यावद् बाणैविंनिर्भिन्न: पुनर्नैंवं वदिष्यसि,इस प्रकार रोके जानेपर अर्जुनने कहा--“जरा सामने आकर रोको। सामने आते ही बाणोंसे टुकड़े-टुकड़े हो जानेपर फिर तुम इस प्रकार नहीं बोल पाओगे”
vāritas tv abravīt pārtho dṛśyamāno nivāraya | yāvad bāṇair vinirbhinnaḥ punar naivaṁ vadiṣyasi ||
Ao ser impedido, Arjuna respondeu: “Se queres deter-me, aparece e tenta. Quando fores despedaçado pelas minhas flechas, não poderás falar assim de novo.” A linha evidencia um ímpeto de orgulho guerreiro e impaciência—fala movida pela proeza, não pelo discernimento—diante da presença provadora do Yakṣa.
