वैशम्पायन उवाच एवं बहुविधैर्वाक्यैर्याच्यमान: स तु द्विज: । कर्णेन भरतश्रेष्ठ नान्यं वरमयाचत,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--भरतश्रेष्ठ) इस प्रकार बहुत-सी बातें कहकर कर्णके प्रार्थना करनेपर भी उन ब्राह्मणदेवने दूसरा कोई वर नहीं माँगा

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca evaṃ bahuvidhair vākyair yācyamānaḥ sa tu dvijaḥ | karṇena bharataśreṣṭha nānyaṃ varam ayācata ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó melhor dos Bharatas, embora Karṇa o suplicasse com palavras de muitos tipos, aquele brâmane não pediu nenhum outro dom.”
