ki nu taj japatāṃ śreṣṭha karṇa prati mahad bhayam | āsīj na ca sa dharmātmā kathayāmāsa kasyacit ||
Janamejaya perguntou: “Ó melhor entre os que recitam o saber sagrado, qual era esse grande temor a respeito de Karṇa? E por que aquele de alma reta não o revelou a ninguém?”
