The verse highlights dharma in social conduct: a ruler should honor a worthy guest appropriately (yathārhataḥ), restrain speech (suniyata vācā), and speak with clarity and humility through proper self-introduction (ātmanivedana).
A king receives a royal sage, performs the fitting rites of respect, controls his speech, and then introduces himself formally—setting a courteous, dharma-aligned tone for the ensuing dialogue.
