Kuntī’s Regulated Hospitality to a Brāhmaṇa Guest
The verse illustrates how attachment to power and wounded pride can convert grief into further aggression; ethical leadership requires restraint and discernment rather than escalating conflict after losses.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that Rāvaṇa hears of Prahasta and the great archer Dhūmrākṣa being killed with their troops by leading Vānara warriors; after prolonged sorrow, he rises from his throne and resolves to unleash Kumbhakarṇa’s prowess.
