Sūrya’s Counsel to Karṇa on Kīrti and the Kuṇḍala
Aid should be offered as dharma grounded in rightful relationship and responsibility; Rama presents help as an obligation arising from kinship and noble conduct, not as a transactional favor.
In Markandeya’s narration, Rama addresses another person respectfully, asks what assistance is needed, and identifies himself as an Ikṣvāku kinsman—thereby authorizing and committing to support within a moral framework.
