The verse affirms āśrama-dharma: disciplined learning and self-restraint in brahmacarya, followed by responsible household life. When life proceeds in the proper order, it supports personal virtue and brings legitimate joy and stability to family and kingdom.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes how the princes (implied from context) completed their student discipline and, in due time, married. Their marriage becomes a cause of Daśaratha’s satisfaction and happiness, marking a successful transition from education to social duty.
