Transliteration

kharaḥ śūrpaṇakhā caiva teṣāṃ vai tapyatāṃ tapaḥ | paricaryā ca rakṣāṃ ca cakratur hṛṣṭamānasau ||

Translation

Disse Mārkaṇḍeya: “Khara e Śūrpaṇakhā, de coração jubiloso, assumiram o serviço e a proteção daqueles que se entregavam às austeridades; sustentavam sua penitência e os guardavam enquanto cumpriam seus votos.”
