तांस्तु सम्प्रस्थितान्‌ दृष्टवा भीष्म: कुरुपितामह: । लज्जया व्रीडितो राजन्‌ जगाम स्वं निवेशनम्‌,राजन्‌! उन सबको वहाँसे प्रस्थान करते देख कुरुकुलपितामह भीष्म लज्जित होकर अपने आवास-स्थानको चले गये

tāṁs tu samprasthitān dṛṣṭvā bhīṣmaḥ kurupitāmahaḥ | lajjayā vrīḍito rājan jagāma svaṁ niveśanam ||

Ó rei, ao vê-los partir daquele lugar, Bhīṣma—o avô da linhagem dos Kuru—foi tomado pela vergonha e, constrangido, recolheu-se à sua própria residência.
