Draupadī’s Rebuke of Jayadratha and Dhaumya’s Admonition (Āraṇyaka-parva, Adhyāya 252)
The verse underscores how a harmful resolve, once affirmed (“tathā iti”) and set into action, can move with frightening speed toward its target—hinting at the ethical danger of consenting to adharma and the rapid unfolding of its consequences.
A kṛtyā—an invoked destructive being—receives assent, departs immediately, and reaches Duryodhana in an instant, emphasizing the supernatural swiftness of the act and the immediacy of the threat directed at him.
