Vyāsa’s Consolation to Yudhiṣṭhira: Tapas, Kāla, and the Difficulty of Dāna (दान-तपस्-विवेकः)
अभेद्यानि ततः सर्वे समनहान्त भारत | जाम्बूनदविचित्राणि कवचानि महारथा:,भारत! तदनन्तर उन समस्त महारथियोंने जाम्बूनद नामक सुवर्णसे विभूषित एवं विचित्र शोभा धारण करनेवाले अभेद्य कवच धारण किये
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
abhedyāni tataḥ sarve samanahānta bhārata |
jāmbūnadavicitrāṇi kavacāni mahārathāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Então, ó Bhārata, todos aqueles grandes guerreiros de carro se armaram por completo, vestindo couraças invioláveis, ornadas e variegadas, adornadas com ouro de Jāmbūnada. A cena ressalta a preparação deliberada e disciplinada para o combate iminente, em que o esplendor exterior acompanha a grave resolução da guerra.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined readiness and the gravity of entering conflict: warriors do not rush blindly but arm themselves with care, reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of preparedness and responsibility in warfare.
After the preceding developments, the assembled great warriors equip themselves, putting on ornate, gold-adorned, supposedly impenetrable armors as they prepare for the next phase of action.
