Vyāsa’s Consolation to Yudhiṣṭhira: Tapas, Kāla, and the Difficulty of Dāna

The verse emphasizes single-pointed allegiance to rightful authority: the speakers claim they follow only one supreme commander, implying that legitimate command is grounded in recognized sovereignty (here, divine lordship), and that such alignment removes inner turmoil (vigatajvara).
Vaiśampāyana reports a declaration by certain speakers that they act strictly under the order of one master; having accepted his governance, they wander without fear or anxiety, and deny the authority of any other ruler over them besides the Lord of the gods.
