ततो मायास्त्रमास्थाय युयुधे चित्रमार्गवित्‌ । तयामुहान्त कौरव्यश्रित्रसेनस्थ मायया

Transliteration

tato māyāstram āsthāya yuyudhe citramārgavit | tayā muhyanta kauravyaś citrasenastha māyayā ||

Translation

Então, o perito em estratagemas prodigiosos tomou o māyāstra, a arma da ilusão, e prosseguiu lutando. Por essa mesma ilusão, os guerreiros Kaurava foram lançados ao aturdimento, enquanto Citrāsena permanecia de pé, empregando sua māyā. O episódio mostra como o poder usado por meio do engano pode derrubar a confiança dos soberbos e como o discernimento é provado quando as aparências são manipuladas.
