Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
Tatas te sahitāḥ sarve Duryodhanam upāgaman |
Abruvanś ca mahārāja yad ūcuḥ Kauravaṃ prati ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Então todos eles, reunidos, aproximaram-se de Duryodhana. E, ó grande rei, relataram ao Kaurava exatamente as palavras que lhes haviam sido ditas para lhe transmitir. A cena ressalta que, numa crise régia, as mensagens são levadas de modo coletivo e formal, moldando responsabilidade e consequência no conflito que se desenrola.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even before weapons are raised, outcomes are shaped by counsel, reporting, and collective decision-making. The verse highlights formal communication in kingship: what is conveyed to a ruler can intensify or restrain conflict, making truthful and responsible reporting ethically significant.
A group (the Kaurava party/attendants) goes together to Duryodhana and relays to him the message that had been spoken for his hearing—setting up the next events of the Gandharva–Kaurava confrontation in this chapter.
