चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः
Citrasena and the Kaurava engagement
श्रिया जुष्ट: पृथुयशा: स कुमारवरस्तदा । निषण्णो दृश्यते भूतै: पौर्णमास्यां यथा शशी,मूर्तिमती शोभासे सेवित हो वहाँ बैठे हुए महा-यशस्वी सुन्दरकुमारको उस समय सब प्राणी पूर्णमासीके चन्द्रमाकी भाँति देखते थे
śriyā juṣṭaḥ pṛthuyaśāḥ sa kumāravaras tadā | niṣaṇṇo dṛśyate bhūtaiḥ paurṇamāsyāṃ yathā śaśī ||
Disse Markandeya: Dotado de fortuna auspiciosa e de fama que se espalhava ao longe, aquele excelente príncipe era então visto ali sentado por todos os seres—brilhando como a lua cheia na noite de plenilúnio.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse suggests that auspicious prosperity (śrī) and true fame (yaśas) naturally accompany excellence of character; such a person becomes visibly radiant and beneficial to others, like the full moon that all can see and enjoy.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes an outstanding young prince seated in splendor; all beings behold him as they would the full moon on the full-moon night, emphasizing his striking presence and universally perceived brilliance.
