शिवोवाच अस्माकं वत्वं प्रियो नित्यं बिभीमस्तु वयं तव । त्वच्चित्तमिड्डितैर्जात्वा प्रेषितास्मि तवान्तिकम्
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | śivo'vāca: asmākaṃ tvaṃ priyaḥ nityaṃ, bibhīmaś ca vayaṃ tava | tvac-cittam īḍḍitaiḥ jñātvā preṣitāsmi tavāntikam ||
Śivā disse: “Ó Agnideva! Sempre nos foste querido; contudo, há muito também te tememos. Recentemente, ao perceber, pelos teus gestos, o intento do teu coração, minhas companheiras enviaram-me para junto de ti. Vim aqui desejando a união. Goza depressa o prazer do amor que te chegou por si mesmo. Ó Hutāśana, minhas amigas, como irmãs para mim, aguardam meu retorno; por isso devo partir em breve.”
