पर्वताश्व नमस्कृत्य तमेव पृथिवीं गता: । अथैनमभजल्लोक: स्कन्दं शुक्लस्य पठचमीम्
parvatāśvaṁ namaskṛtya tameva pṛthivīṁ gatāḥ | athainam abhajallokaḥ skandaṁ śuklasya pañcamīm ||
Disse Mārkaṇḍeya: Tendo-se curvado em reverência diante de Parvatāśva, eles retornaram novamente à terra. Desde então, as pessoas passaram a venerar Skanda no quinto dia (pañcamī) da quinzena clara (śukla pakṣa) de cada mês, instituindo um ato devocional recorrente que liga gratidão e lembrança à observância religiosa regular.

After paying homage to Parvatāśva, the group returns to the earthly realm. Subsequently, people begin the recurring practice of worshipping Skanda on the fifth lunar day of the bright fortnight each month.
