Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father
युधिष्ठिरस्तु विप्रांस्ताननुमान्य महामना: । शशास पुरुषान् काले रथान् योजयतेति वै,तदनन्तर महामना युधिष्ठिरने सब ब्राह्मणोंकी अनुमतिसे अपने सेवकोंको समयपर आज्ञा दी--*रथोंको जोतकर तैयार करो”
Yudhiṣṭhiras tu viprāṁs tān anumānya mahāmanāḥ | śaśāsa puruṣān kāle rathān yojayateti vai ||
Então o nobre Yudhiṣṭhira, tendo obtido o assentimento daqueles brāhmaṇas, deu a seus atendentes uma ordem oportuna: “Atrelai os carros e deixai-os prontos.” O verso destaca sua liderança disciplinada — respeita o conselho dos sábios e procede com ordem e senso de dever.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler or leader should act with humility and discipline: first seek the assent of the learned (viprāḥ), then give timely, orderly commands. The verse models dharmic governance—respecting counsel and proceeding without haste or arrogance.
After receiving the brāhmaṇas’ approval, Yudhiṣṭhira instructs his men to yoke and prepare the chariots, indicating readiness to depart or to proceed with the next planned action.
