The verse highlights dharmic conduct in relationships: affection expressed through embrace, humility through respectful salutations, and reverence through honoring and worshipful reception—showing that righteousness is lived through courteous, compassionate responses to those who return after trials.
A figure is warmly received: Arjuna embraces him; Nakula and Sahadeva offer respectful salutations; the priest Dhaumya formally honors him; and Draupadī, moved to tears, receives him with reverent devotion.
