Mahābhārata 3.214
यस्य सर्वे समारम्भा निराशीर्बन्धना: सदा | त्यागे यस्य हुतं सर्व स त्यागी स च बुद्धिमान्,जिसके सम्पूर्ण आयोजन कभी कामनाओंसे बाँधे हुए नहीं होते तथा जिसने त्यागकी आगमें अपना सर्वस्व होम दिया है वही त्यागी और बुद्धिमान् है
yasya sarve samārambhā nirāśīrbandhanāḥ sadā | tyāge yasya hutaṃ sarvaṃ sa tyāgī sa ca buddhimān |
O caçador disse: “É verdadeiramente um renunciante—e verdadeiramente sábio—aquele cujos empreendimentos jamais são presos pela cobiça e pela expectativa, e que ofereceu todo o seu ser no fogo do desapego. Assim age sem estar acorrentado ao desejo e vive segundo a ética do deixar ir.”
