अग्निवंशवर्णनम् (Agni-vaṃśa-varṇana) / The Genealogy and Function of Agni
एते पञ्चदश ब्रह्मन् गुणा भूतेषु पजचसु । वर्तन्ते सर्वभूतेषु येषु लोका: प्रतिछ्ठिता:,ब्रह्मन! इस प्रकार पाँचों भूतोंमें ये पंद्रह गुण बताये गये हैं। इन्हींमें सम्पूर्ण लोक प्रतिष्ठित हैं
ete pañcadaśa brahman guṇā bhūteṣu pañcasu | vartante sarvabhūteṣu yeṣu lokāḥ pratiṣṭhitāḥ ||
O caçador disse: “Ó brâmane, estas quinze qualidades encontram-se nos cinco grandes elementos. Elas atuam em todos os seres; e sobre elas os próprios mundos estão estabelecidos.” No contexto do ensinamento, o verso aponta para uma visão ética da realidade: compreender a constituição elemental comum a todas as criaturas sustenta a humildade, a contenção e a não crueldade, pois as mesmas qualidades fundamentais permeiam a todos.
