व्याध उवाच
Heaven is attained by those who combine faith in dharma with humility, reverence for the learned/twice-born, and a life shaped by learning (śruta) and good conduct (vṛtta). The verse frames spiritual success as ethical character rather than mere social identity.
In the Vana Parva’s dialogue where the hunter (vyādha) instructs a Brahmin seeker, he explains the marks of truly virtuous people and the fruits of their conduct—here, stating that humble, faithful, and well-conducted persons are fit for heavenly attainment.
