The verse teaches that dharma can be fulfilled through sincere, humble performance of one’s rightful role—here, devoted and attentive service within household life—and that such conduct bears tangible ethical and spiritual fruit (karma-phala).
A Brahmin woman addresses a Brahmin, explaining that her practice of dharma is not through extraordinary austerities but through ordinary marital duty. She invites him to witness the results of her devoted service to her husband.
