पञ्चमहाभूतगुण-इन्द्रियनिग्रह-उपदेशः | Teaching on the Qualities of the Five Elements and Sense-Control
मार्कण्डेय उवाच एवं स छन््द्यमानस्तु वरेण हरिणा तदा
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: evaṃ sa chandyamānas tu vareṇa hariṇā tadā
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: “Assim, naquele momento, ele—instigado e seduzido pela dádiva prometida pelo veado—foi atraído para a frente, e sua resolução foi moldada pelo engodo da recompensa anunciada.”
