Legitimate force is framed as dharmic when it is directed toward protecting society from predatory violence and when it remains anchored in humility and respect for spiritual-ethical authority (honoring the श्रेष्ठ द्विज and being guided by them).
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Kalkī as a roaming restorer-figure: he is praised by eminent Brahmins, he honors them in return, and he remains continually engaged in eliminating dasyus—lawless raiders—thus depicting a campaign to re-establish order on earth.
