Indradyumna Upākhyāna: On Kīrti, Smṛti, and Restoration
मार्कण्डेय उवाच शृणु राजन मया दृष्ट॑ यत् पुरा श्रुतमेव च । अनुभूतं च राजेन्द्र देवदेवप्रसादजम्,मार्कण्डेय बोले--भरतश्रेष्ठ राजन! मैंने देवाधिदेव भगवान् बालमुकुन्दकी कृपासे पूर्वकालमें, निकृष्ट कलिकालके प्राप्त होनेपर सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके भावी वृत्तान्तके विषयमें जो कुछ देखा-सुना या अनुभव किया है, वह बताता हूँ, सुनो और समझो
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: śṛṇu rājan mayā dṛṣṭaṃ yat purā śrutam eva ca | anubhūtaṃ ca rājendra devadeva-prasāda-jam ||
Disse Mārkaṇḍeya: “Escuta, ó Rei. Aquilo que outrora vi, o que ouvi dos tempos antigos e o que eu mesmo experimentei—concedido pela graça do Deus dos deuses—agora relatarei. Presta atenção e compreende.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
True insight is presented as threefold—seen, heard, and personally experienced—and its highest authority is grounded in divine grace; the listener is urged to receive it with attentive understanding, aligning knowledge with dharma.
Mārkaṇḍeya begins a formal narration to the king, announcing that he will recount extraordinary knowledge and experiences—connected with ancient tradition and direct revelation—bestowed through the favor of the Supreme Lord.
