मार्कण्डेय उवाच विवस्वत: सुतो राजन् महर्षि: सुप्रतापवान् । बभूव नरशार्दूल प्रजापतिसमद्युति:,मार्कण्डेयजी बोले--नरश्रेष्ठ नरेश! विवस्वान् (सूर्य)-के एक अत्यन्त प्रतापी पुत्र हुआ, जो प्रजापतिके समान कान्तिमान् और महान् ऋषि था
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | vivasvataḥ suto rājan maharṣiḥ supratāpavān | babhūva naraśārdūla prajāpati-samadyutiḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: “Ó rei, tigre entre os homens! Nasceu um filho de Vivasvān (o Sol), um grande ṛṣi de poder extraordinário, que resplandecia com esplendor igual ao de Prajāpati.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
