ततस्तु ते क्रोधवशा: समेत्य धनेश्वरं भीमबलप्रणुन्ना: । भीमस्य वीर्य च बल॑ च संख्ये यथावदाचख्युरतीव भीता:,तब भीमसेनके बलसे पीड़ित और अत्यन्त भयभीत हुए क्रोधवशोंने धनाध्यक्ष कुबेरके पास जाकर युद्धमें भीमके बल और पराक्रमका यथावत् वृत्तान्त कह सुनाया
tatastu te krodhavaśāḥ sametya dhaneśvaraṃ bhīmabalapraṇunnāḥ | bhīmasya vīryaṃ ca balaṃ ca saṅkhye yathāvad ācakhyur atīva bhītāḥ ||
Então, impelidos pela ira e abalados pela força do poder de Bhīma, reuniram-se e foram ao Senhor das Riquezas, Kubera. Tremendo de grande temor, relataram-lhe com inteira e fiel precisão o valor e a força que Bhīma exibira na batalha.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Anger leads to reckless action, but reality—especially the experience of being overpowered—forces humility and truthful reporting. The verse highlights the ethical pivot from aggression to accountability: one must acknowledge facts as they are (yathāvat), even when pride is wounded.
Those who confronted Bhīma are overwhelmed by his strength in combat. Fearful and shaken, they go to Kubera, the lord of wealth, and accurately recount Bhīma’s valor and power on the battlefield.
