Bhīmasena–Hanūmān Saṃvāda: The Tail Test and the Divine Path
पश्य दिव्यं सुरुचिरं भीम पुष्पमनुत्तमम् । गन्धसंस्थानसम्पन्नं मनसो मम नन्दनम्,'भीम! देखो तो, यह दिव्य पुष्प कितना अच्छा और कैसा सुन्दर है! मानो सुगन्ध ही इसका स्वरूप है। यह मेरे मनको आनन्द प्रदान कर रहा है। परंतप! मैं इसे धर्मराजको भेंट करूँगी। तुम मेरी इच्छाकी पूर्तिके लिये काम्यकवनके आश्रममें इसे ले चलो”
paśya divyaṃ suruciraṃ bhīma puṣpam anuttamam | gandhasaṃsthānasaṃpannaṃ manaso mama nandanam ||
“Vê, Bhīma—olha esta flor divina, tão bela e sem par. Ela é plena de fragrância e de forma perfeita, e deleita a minha mente. Ó queimador de inimigos, eu a oferecerei a Dharmarāja; para cumprir o meu desejo, leva-a ao eremitério na floresta de Kāmyaka.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights intention and duty: a beautiful object is not sought merely for personal pleasure but is directed toward respectful offering to Dharmarāja, while Bhīma is called upon to fulfill a loved one’s wish through loyal service—an ethic of devotion, restraint, and right action even during exile.
A divine, fragrant, exceptionally beautiful flower is shown to Bhīma. The speaker expresses delight in it and states the intention to present it to Dharmarāja, asking Bhīma to carry it to the hermitage in the Kāmyaka forest to fulfill the request.
