देवा ऊचु मैवं कृथा यवक्रीत यथा वदसि वै मुने । ऋते गुरुमधीता हि सुखं वेदास्त्वया पुरा,देवताओंने कहा--मुनि यवक्रीत! तुम जैसी बात कहते हो, वैसा न समझो। तुमने पूर्वकालमें बिना गुरुके ही सुखपूर्वक सब वेद पढ़े हैं और इन रैभ्यमुनिने बड़े क्लेश उठाकर अपने व्यवहारसे गुरुजनोंको संतुष्ट करके दीर्घकालतक कष्टसहनपूर्वक उत्तम वेदोंका ज्ञान प्राप्त किया है

Transliteration

devā ūcuḥ—maivaṁ kṛthā yavakrīta yathā vadasi vai mune | ṛte gurum adhītā hi sukhaṁ vedās tvayā purā ||

Translation

Os deuses disseram: “Yavakrīta, não ajas assim; não penses como estás falando, ó sábio. Pois, em tempos passados, de fato estudaste os Vedas com facilidade mesmo sem um mestre.”
