Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
इन्द्राशनिसमस्पर्श वज़संहननं दृढम् | संहत्य भीमसेनाय व्याक्षिपत् सहसा करम्,क्रोधमें भरे हुए उस बलवान राक्षसने बड़े वेगसे निकट जाकर अपने हाथसे भीमसेनका हाथ पकड़ लिया। भीमसेनके हाथका स्पर्श इन्द्रके वज्रके समान था। उनका शरीर भी वैसा ही सुदृढ़ था। राक्षसने भीमसेनसे भिड़कर उनके हाथको सहसा झटक दिया
indrāśani-samasparśa vajra-saṃhananaṃ dṛḍham | saṃhatya bhīmasenāya vyākṣipat sahasā karam ||
Disse o rākṣasa: “Ao se aproximar de Bhīmasena, de súbito agarrou-lhe o braço e o torceu com força. O toque de Bhīma era como o raio de Indra, e seu corpo era duro e inflexível como um vajra. Ainda assim, o rākṣasa, irado e poderoso, travou com ele e, no calor do combate, sacudiu-lhe o braço com violência.”
राक्षस उवाच
The verse highlights the epic ideal of steadfast strength under sudden aggression: true power is shown not merely in striking, but in being unshaken when confronted by wrath and force.
A rākṣasa, filled with anger, rushes in close, grabs Bhīmasena’s arm, and tries to wrench it away. The poet underscores Bhīma’s extraordinary hardness and strength by comparing his touch and build to Indra’s vajra.
