Nāvyāśrama-nirmāṇa and Ṛśyaśṛṅga’s Distraction
The verse highlights dharmic concern for sustained spiritual practice: tapas should steadily mature, tejas should remain undiminished through right living, and svādhyāya (disciplined sacred study) should continue regularly—showing that inner progress is measured by continuity and steadiness.
Lomaśa addresses Ṛṣyaśṛṅga with respectful inquiries, asking after the well-being of the ascetics, the undiminished spiritual vigor of Ṛṣyaśṛṅga’s father, and whether Ṛṣyaśṛṅga remains content and continues his svādhyāya—typical of a sage’s courteous, dharma-centered greeting.
