Educational Q&A

When a party is firmly resolved against dharma—refusing what is rightfully due—mere persuasion and conciliatory speech may become ineffective; ethical action must account for entrenched injustice and deliberate obstinacy.

Vaiśampāyana reports that Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons have decided not to grant the Pāṇḍavas their proper share of the kingdom; therefore, attempts at reconciliation and counsel addressed to them are expected to be fruitless.
