महाभिजनसम्पन्ना सर्वकामै: सुपूजिता । ईश्वरी सर्वकल्याणी द्रौपदी कथमच्युत
mahābhijanasampannā sarvakāmaiḥ supūjitā | īśvarī sarvakalyāṇī draupadī katham acyuta ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: “Ó Acyuta, como está agora Draupadī — ela que nasceu na mais excelente linhagem, dotada da grandeza de uma família nobre, honrada com toda oferta desejável, senhora como rainha e auspiciosa em todos os aspectos?”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds the ethical duty to remember and inquire after the welfare of those who are honorable and vulnerable—especially a revered queen like Draupadī—highlighting respect (pūjā), concern, and the moral weight of her situation in the unfolding conflict.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, the narrator Vaiśampāyana reports a question addressed to Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta): an anxious inquiry about Draupadī’s present condition, emphasizing her noble birth, honored status, and auspicious qualities.
