Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Reception Plan for Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa): Gifts, Procession, and Protocol
सत्कृत्याचक्षते चान्ये तथैवान्ये समागता: । पृथग्वादाश्न वर्तन्ते चत्वरेषु सभासु च
satkṛtyācakṣate cānye tathaivānye samāgatāḥ | pṛthagvādāś ca vartante catvareṣu sabhāsu ca ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Alguns falam disso com a devida honra, e do mesmo modo outros que aqui se reuniram também dizem o mesmo. Nas encruzilhadas e nos salões públicos, igualmente, grupos separados prosseguem com essa mesma conversa.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how a significant event or report becomes a matter of collective moral attention: when something momentous arises, it is discussed everywhere—privately and publicly—showing the social weight of dharma-related decisions and their consequences.
Vaiśampāyana describes a widespread buzz: people—both locals and visitors—are respectfully repeating the same remarkable report, and the topic is being discussed in multiple groups at crossroads and in assembly halls.
