Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
In a moment of overwhelming adversity, the verse models śaraṇāgati (seeking refuge): acknowledging the Lord’s awareness of human suffering and requesting protection for oneself and one’s dependents, grounding the plea in the preservation of dharma and communal well-being.
Vaiśampāyana reports a supplicatory address to Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana, Puṇḍarīkākṣa): the speakers recall their repeated great misfortunes and ask him to safeguard them along with their husbands and wider family network as tensions escalate toward conflict.
