Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
सुता द्रुपदराजस्य स्वसितायतमूर्थजा । सम्पूज्य सहदेवं च सात्यकिं च महारथम्
sutā drupadarājasya svasitāyatamūrthajā | sampūjya sahadevaṃ ca sātyakiṃ ca mahāratham ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: A filha do rei Drupada—nascida do próprio corpo—tendo honrado devidamente Sahadeva e também Sātyaki, o grande guerreiro de carro, (prosseguiu no curso dos acontecimentos).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharmic conduct through proper honoring (satkāra) of respected persons—especially allies and eminent warriors—showing that ethical civility and gratitude remain essential even when conflict is imminent.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Drupada’s daughter respectfully receives and honors Sahadeva and the great warrior Sātyaki, indicating formal welcome and recognition within the unfolding preparations and alliances of the Udyoga Parva.
