Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy

यथावध्ये वध्यमाने भवेद्‌ दोषो जनार्दन | स वध्यस्यावधे दृष्ट इति धर्मविदो विदु:

yathāvadhe vadhyamāne bhaved doṣo janārdana | sa vadhyasyāvadhe dṛṣṭa iti dharmavido viduḥ ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: “Ó Janārdana, se alguma falta é incorrida ao matar alguém que deve ser morto, os conhecedores do dharma entendem que essa mesma falta se encontra no ato de matar quem não deve ser morto. No caso de executar o verdadeiramente punível, não se considera que haja culpa.”
