सहदेव–सात्यकि संवादः
Sahadeva and Satyaki on resolve after failed conciliation
वृष्णिनन्दन! वनमें विचरते समय राज्यके विषयमें हमारा वैसा आकर्षण नहीं था, जैसा इस समय है ।।
vṛṣṇinandana! vanaṁ vicārate samaye rājyasya viṣaye asmākaṁ na tādṛśa ākarṣaṇaṁ āsīt, yādṛśam idānīm asti. nivṛttavanavāsān naḥ śrutvā vīra samāgatāḥ; akṣauhiṇyo hi saptemās tvatprasādāj janārdana.
Ó alegria dos Vṛṣṇis! Enquanto vagávamos pela floresta, o apelo do reino não era como é agora. Mas hoje, concluído o nosso exílio e tendo retornado, ao ouvirem isso os heróis se reuniram; e, de fato, por teu favor, ó Janārdana, estas sete akṣauhiṇīs de tropas se ajuntaram aqui.
नकुल उवाच
The verse contrasts personal detachment during exile with the renewed, duty-bound pursuit of rightful sovereignty after the exile ends. It suggests that seeking power is ethically legitimate when grounded in dharma (restoring justice and rightful order) and supported by righteous alliances under wise guidance (Kṛṣṇa’s favor).
Nakula speaks to Kṛṣṇa during the Udyoga Parva’s mobilization phase. He notes that, after the Pandavas’ forest exile has concluded, warriors and forces have rallied to their side; specifically, seven akṣauhiṇīs have assembled, attributed to Kṛṣṇa’s support—signaling imminent large-scale conflict and the consolidation of the Pandava coalition.
